Specialist In Small Animal Surgery

Animal Referral Centre, Auckland, New Zealand

Animal Referral Centre is looking for an additional small animal surgical specialist to join our practice. We are looking for a clinician to provide the highest standards of care and function as part of a cohesive, caring multidisciplinary team.

Our ideal candidate would be a board certified surgeon (ECVS, ACVS or FANZCVS) but board eligible surgeons are also welcome to apply.

Animal Referral Centre is a busy, growing, specialist led private referral practice established in 2016. It is independently owned and operated and has specialists in small animal surgery, internal medicine and diagnostic imaging.  A cardiologist is joining the practice in August 2020. We are also co-located with a specialist animal dermatology practice.

Surgical theatres are well equipped with Synthes orthopaedic kits and power tools, surgical stapling equipment, Ligasure vessel sealing technology, IMEX ESF and HD arthroscopy. The clinic has a new 64 slice Siemens CT, digital radiography, C-arm image intensification, ultrasound, endoscopy, mechanical ventilation and dedicated cat and dog receptions, consulting rooms and treatment areas. We have access to off-site 3T MRI and radiation therapy. A purpose built small animal rehabilitation centre is also onsite.

The clinic is located on Auckland’s North Shore. Auckland is New Zealand's largest city and home to over 1.6 million people. Auckland has fantastic beaches, two harbours, and hiking trails and national parks are within easy reach. The climate is sunny, the city is multi-cultural and we have outstanding food, wine and shopping. New Zealand is currently free of COVID-19 and the future for small animal specialist practice is very bright.

The remuneration package for this position is competitive, commensurate with experience and a signing bonus and relocation allowance is offered. We offer a 4 day work week with a long weekend every weekend, a generous CPD allowance and paid time off for CPD.
